In this edition, we have Ster-Kinekor on Windows Phone, an unofficial SnapChat client for BlackBerry 10 and an app that prevents your friends from swiping to your dodgy photos.

Ster-Kinekor

One of the more well-known local apps, Ster-Kinekor’s official app has appeared on a variety of platforms – and now, it’s finally available on Windows Phone. The app possesses pretty much the same features as other versions, such as the ability to book tickets, view trailers and read entertainment news.

Ster-Kinekor is available on BlackBerry, Symbian, iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

One Button Sports

As the name implies, this smartphone game is as simple as it gets, requiring just one button. Consisting of tennis and jet-skiing, you’ll simply need to tap the button to win the game – and multiplayer is supported too.

One Button Sports is available for R7.99 on iOS and as a free download for Android users.

Molome

One of the most popular Instagram alternatives, Molome, has made its way to Windows Phone as well, with a hat-tip to the Nokia Conversations blog. Molome allows users to decorate their photos with stickers, text and effects, as well as the ever-popular filters (such as tilt-shift and more).

Molome is available for Windows Phone, iOS and Android.

Beyond the Dead

Yes yes, it’s another zombie game, but it seems like a polished take on the overdone formula. Beyond the Dead has you fighting off the undead, recruiting over 100 survivors and using over 400 weapons. You’ll also need to engage in base-building and alliance-forming if you want to survive.

Beyond the Dead is available for free on iOS.

Snap2Chat

The BlackBerry 10 platform hasn’t been receiving many apps lately, but unofficial developers are definitely filling the gaps. One such example is a third-party Snapchat client called Snap2Chat – allowing BlackBerry users to get in on the conversation too, CrackBerry reported.

Snap2Chat is available for BlackBerry 10, but you’ll need to sideload it  (Snap2Chat is not an Android app).

Front Wars

One of my all-time favourite franchises is Nintendo’s Advance Wars, and now, a game inspired by the series has hit iOS. Set in World War Two, it’s a pretty similar experience, charging players with controlling a variety of units and capturing your enemy’s HQ. It even has similar combat cut-scenes in place.

Front Wars is available on iOS for R24.99.

NoSwipeForYou

Ever wanted to show a friend some cool photos on your phone but were worried about them swiping and discovering dodgy snaps? Well, that’s where NoSwipeForYou comes in – letting you choose which photos are accessed by friends before you pass the phone to them.

NoSwipeForYou is a nifty idea, so give the Lite version a go on Android.
