Tax Season is upon us

The 2012 tax year is truly upon us, and SARS’ main drive is not only to get the returns submitted, but for tax payers to be honest…

Tax evasion has been an issue for many years, and SARS is focussing on getting the right information from tax payers so as to determine correct tax payable / refundable. This drive must surely be based on the past years’ information and/or experiences because they really are mentioning it more than just for information purposes.

If you need assistance with your tax submission this year, please feel free to mail us – details at http://www.psyberconsulting.co.za

SARS: 2011 Tax Season

As the saying goes, nothing is certain but death and taxes – well it’s tax season time again (seems like only yesterday we finalised last year’s).

  • Annual PAYE Reconciliation submission (for the 201102 period and the 2011 tax year): this period will be from 4 April to 3 June 2011;

If you haven’t downloaded and installed the latest version of e@syFile Employer yet, please do so at http://downloads.sarsefiling.co.za/easyfilehome/easyfile.html. There is a link for Download for Windows (haven’t seen any software for other operating systems, so suck it if you have Linux / Mac!). The instruction manuals (quite comprehensive but also rather confusing at times) can also be found on this same page…

If you need assistance with submissions or the PAYE reconciliation process, please contact Psyber Consulting. Most financial / payroll systems normally have some export functionalities that can be imported into e@syFile Employer, which makes for easy processing especially if you have a LOT of employees’ details to have captured. Please remember that all car allowances and company cars HAVE TO BE accompanied with a detailed log book as from 1 March 2011 and employees wanting to get car allowances have to be separately and individually declared as such with a reason for wanting the allowance.

I’ll keep everyone posted as to changes to the above date, as well as additional dates.
